What we do

UK Tax Calculator provides free calculators to help employees, hourly workers and the self-employed understand what they'll actually take home after Income Tax, National Insurance, student loan repayments and pension contributions. Every calculator shares one underlying calculation engine, so figures stay consistent across the site.

Where our figures come from

Our tax bands, National Insurance thresholds and student loan repayment thresholds are based on publicly published HMRC and Scottish Government figures for each tax year. Where a future tax year's exact figures haven't been confirmed yet, we carry forward the most recently announced thresholds and clearly label the year as an estimate.

What we don't do

We don't store, transmit or sell anything you type into a calculator — every calculation happens in your browser. We also don't provide personalised financial, tax or investment advice; our calculators give general estimates only. For advice specific to your situation, please speak to a qualified accountant or financial adviser.

How we're funded

This site is free to use and supported by advertising. Ads never affect the figures our calculators produce.
